Ok guys, I'm a Mustang enthusiast through and through, but my friend has a V6 Camaro (98), he bent a rod in the original 3800 and bought a brand spanking new motor, he has intake and exhaust and he wants to add the ultimate bolt-on power adder, the supercharger. He is probably going to get the supercharger off of a Grand Prix GTP, but he needs to know, what other parts (besides the blower itself) does he need to make the install work? Because frankly, we have no clue! :diss:diss:diss
well i know the GTP has the same 3.8L so it shouldnt be too complicated, if you can look up close at the GTP with the supercharger on it you should be able to compare it to the camaro's intake, probly scrap the camaro intake and just bolt on the s/c, i dont think it'll be all that difficult since its the same 3.8, but then again i dont know everything, sounds like its gonna work fine though
The blower on the GTP is a major dissappointment. I know, I own a GT and rented a GTP. Not much differenc. Tell him to get a recent copy of a Camaro/Firebird magazine and see what's available on the aftermarket. Find a company that makes a correct blower for his car.

You may want to call LM Performance. They are very big into the new chevy aftermarket stuff. Nice guys also. I think the web page is www.lmperformance.com
whoa now, transplanting a supercharger from one car to another isnt easy. they may share the same block but they may not share the same air fuel spark items. a supercharged car has diff injectors and ignition than a N/A one. also N/A cars use a higher compression to get better gas mileage and more HP. so you would prob have to change pistions to allow for a lower compression, and upgrade your fuel system to enlimiate a lean situation. also you would have to have the car tuned other wise it will run like crap. on top of all of that you would have to make some custome air tubes cause the engien bay of the maro is diff from the gtp...all in all its a lot of work. id say go with an aftermarket supercharger kit fot eh maro.
When it breaks dont shed a tear...build it bigger...faster...louder
you should check out a company called texas rear turbo .........i think if it was me and i had the camaro, i would look at his turbokits.......hotwheels of turborides
