Ford Racing Performance Parts has just released three new performance packages for the 2005+ Mustang GTs. FRPP's three options, the "Power Pack", "Drag Pack" and "Handling Pack" allow Mustang enthusiasts to choose a kit based on what they're looking for in performance.

Engineered as part of the Mustang FR500C race program, which raced to the championship in the Grand-Am Cup series, Ford Racing has developed what they claim to be "the perfect platform for enthusiasts to customize, personalize, and enhance their Mustangs for the street or track".


Owners of 2005+ Mustang GT's will be able to "turn your Mustang into the king of the road using Ford Racing Performance Part?s new line of Mustang ?Performance Packs?". To be introduced at the SEMA show this Tuesday (Nov. 1st), Ford Racing Performance Parts are sure to be bringing a crowd pleaser with the new Performance Packs.

"Mustang is the king when it comes to driving performance parts business," says Jamie Allison, manager, Ford Racing Performance Parts (FRPP). "The FRPP ?Performance Packs? for Mustang are grounded in championship-winning engineering and race-proven experience. These packs are the perfect platform for enthusiasts to customize, personalize, and enhance their Mustangs for the street or track".

The three "Performance Packs" allow 2005-06 Mustang owners to choose a package that provides the level of enhancement they're looking for. The first package, the "FR1" or "Power Pack", offers a much more throatier exhaust note through FRPP's stainless steel mufflers with 4" tips. Also included is a cold air kit, new mass air meter and the Ford Racing premium fuel calibration kit. The Power Pack is designed to be a complete bold-on setup, easy enough to install by your average shade tree mechanic.

If the mild increases expected with the Power Pack aren't quite enough for you, FRPP's next option is the "Drag Pack" (FR2). This kit is ideal for the '05+ owners who are expecting to see a little time at the local drag strip. Included is a new 4.10:1 ring & pinion gear set (gear installation kit included), exhaust headers, cold air kit, Ford Racing calibration kit, and a "Suprt Short" throw shifter (designed by Ford Racing and Hurst).

The third package can be installed as a standalone upgrade, or in conjunction with the Power Pack or Drag Pack. This "Handling Pack" (FR3) features a unique suspension setup including dampers, springs, anti-roll bars, and a strut tower brace. This package is designed to not only increase the handling abilities of the new S197 based Mustangs, but will also give it a much more aggressive, lower stance.
