Been a while since I had my last Mustang. However, I'm back again with a 1998 GT Hard Top. More to come as I go through this car, cause I just got it on 02/19/09!Big Grin

UPDATE: 2/26/09
Wow, was this car abused!!! So far I've found a rear shock mount that was loose, an exhaust leak, a broken trunk latch, what I can only describe as caramelized soda in the spare tire well, a broken wire under the passenger seat that allows the seat to move front and back. The drivers seat control won't raise or lower the seat. I found burnt out interior lighting, the A/C pump berings are seized and the belt was by-passing it. The altenator fried after only owning the car for 1 hour! The power locks on the drivers door dosen't work, along with the switch that activates the interior light. She just needs some MLC (Monte Lovin' Care)

UPDATE: 4/9/09 ( One more payment and she's all mine! )
Well, it's been a lot of fun getting dirty and working on the Mustang and she's really starting to shine! Here's what I've been working on:
Fixed the passenger seat so it now slides forward and back
Fixed the power seat motors on the drivers seat
Added black vinyl letters "MUSTANG GT" to the back bumper
Repainted the faded plastic center caps silver

Painted the horse in the middle of the center caps black
Added sequentail rear turnsignals
Fixed the broken trunk lid latch
Put new brake pads on all 4 wheels
Replaced the rear shocks
Installed 8 new Motorcraft Platinum Plugs
Replaced the Coolant and Thermostat, Rear End Gear Oil & Manual Transmission Fluid

UPDATE: 5/10/09
I found a used front bumper cover on craigslist for $70.00. I had to paint it white, cause it was blue. Took my time with it and installed it over the weekend. I also found a set of used tires on craigslist for $125.00. A good deal for 60,000 mile tires with 3/4 life still on them...

Update: 8/17/09
Well this weekend I had to replace the Harmonic Balancer. It seperated at the rubber and the outer ring came off. I got another used on from the Junk Yard for only $12.00! Beats the $100 from checkers! I also replaced the Spark Plug Wires and had a recall done by Ford for the fuel rails. I also found two shorts happening in the electrical system. One was caused by the Spark Plug Wire bracket right on top of the Altenator, and the other caused by the light switch in the drivers door. I replaced the switch with a new one from Ford and I had my warning chimes and light back. I replaced the trunk light switch too. Still working my way through everything. I feel like I'm restoring it, but I'm ok with that.

Update: 11/13/09
Enough was enough! Who ever did the side exhaust on my car before I got it did a horrible job. I scrape over everything! Speed bumps, Curbs as I pull into and out of driveways, AUGH!!! So, I went to the exhaust shop and had them install a cat back system that flows over the rear axel and exits back behind the car. I love the newer deeper sound. Sounds like a Mustang is supposed to sound!!!

Update: 01/10/10
Bought a set of Mach 1 rims from a guy for $400... I've been trying to give my GT a MACH look so these rims look great!
